This morning I was reading With Love, Edith, by Edith Schaeffer. It is a collection of letters she wrote home when they moved to Europe. She writes very descriptively yet down to earth. It is strangely encouraging to read about what their daily life was like. To hear her talk about washing clothes or trying to entertain children in 2 small rooms or running an errand reminds me of how each of these things are important. Getting to see how these “little things” fit into the “big things”, since I can read about a month or a year of their life, is encouraging to me while I am in the mist of doing the “little things”. It some how make me more motivated to see how I can make leftover roast into an interesting meal, or how many loads of laundry can I get done today. And it makes figuring out where to hang all those pictures an important job. It reminds me that all these tasks to make our apartment enjoyable, or saving money, or just normal daily chores matter in making up the big things.
After much sorting here is a quick look at our wedding! There are tons more pictures but I am still figuring out how to sort them and edit them. So for now here are some of the best pictures.
