Growth:
He was 7lbs 13 oz at birth. The next day when we went home he was 7lbs 9 oz. On Monday at his 4 day old appointment he was 7lbs
At his "two week old" appointment when he was a week and a half he weighed 8 lbs 7 oz. And this head had grown a cm (14cm.)
Eating:
IT is funny how much you forget about! I can't really remember what it was like to feed Anna when she was a newborn. Micah is a good eater. He liked to eat about every 3 or more (!) hours for about 10-15 minutes on ONE side for the first week or so. Now he is eating about every two hours during the day and 3+ hours at night. The last two nights he ate at 12, 3, and 6. He seems very content between feeding so he must be getting enough. He was "tongue tied" (posterior) and did need to have a spot underneath his tongue clipped at his 4 day old appointment. That made nursing much more comfortable for me. He doesn't spit up much. In fact he has only spit up twice since he came home from the hospital!
Sleeping:
All he did was sleep for the first 12 days. It was even hard to wake him up to eat! Now he is starting to stay awake a little bit after he eats. He liked to be swaddled for the first few days but now he will sleep in his bouncy chair well. His favorite spot to sleep is curled up on someone's chest!.
Other things:
Micah has very light coloring. I think that he will have blue eyes like his sister and dad. His hair is fair too, but very short! He reminds me of Anna at this age, but he doesn't look feminine at all - more like a little old man. I call him my "Mr. Man", and Anna still calls him Jingleheimer.
Today I was taking Anna for her first walk since having Micah. I was just going to let her ride her bike down the sidewalk to the end of the street and then turn around and come back. As we were walking, Anna was right in front of me. I noticed a man jump into a car. The car was hidden behind another car and I didn't see until I was almost behind it that he jumped into the passenger side and that someone was in the driver's seat. The driver immediately put his car into reverse. Anna was right behind the car, but of course the driver didn't see her since she is so small. I screamed for him to stop grabbed Anna and her bike and jumped out of the way. I was so thankful that they didn't hit her! I probably pulled a few stitches but we were all safe, scared, but safe!

Working on teaching Anna to take her dishes into the kitchen after eating. Tonight she carried her bowl in, and then I asked her to take her cup and fork. She stuck the cup in HER kitchen! and tried to put her dirty fork there too! After putting her into bed I went into the kitchen to get something and opened the utensil drawer and found her dirty fork. She had put it away!
Anna is two and a half and it is such a fun (and sometimes frustrating) age.
Anna loves to talk and is always amazing us with her vocabulary. She also is picking up things so fast. She often sings songs that we have no memory of teaching her it is pretty cute. She loves "Up on the house top", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", Lots of nursery rhymes.
She loves to do activities. Puzzles are a favorite and she is able to put together "real" puzzles. She loves playing memory and catch - her two favorite games right now. We love being able to start playing games with her now.
Hide n seek: "Anna count" "One, two, three, four....here I go" "I found you!!!! She loves this game and taking turns counting.....
I absolutly love these pictures our friend Kim took for us. Anna is in two special dresses in these pictures. The white one my mom made for her, and the pink one a friend of the family made for me when I was two.
In these last three Anna is singing "If your happy and you know it clap your hands.." She loves to see this song and do the motions while singing.
I can't believe two years have flown by since Anna was born. She has grown up so much . It is so much fun to see her personality develop! She is sweet, cuddly, determined, indepentent, and lot of fun. We celebrated her birthday lots of ways all day long.
We woke her up singing "Happy Birthday". And gave her her present from us. (Barn and farm animals.)
We made cupcakes together.
We had a party with friends at the playground.
We skyped with both sets of grandparents.
We ate lots of junk food :)
I think it was a successful celebration.

We enjoyed being outside to play today! It is the first time it has been warm enough to play outside since December!
Anna has been talking for a while now. She loves to chat -- most of this "chatting" is nonsense words but she seems so think we all understand it. She will tell herself stories when we are riding in the car or when she is in her crib. It is quite cute to go in to her room and hear her talking up a storm.
There are some words that we can understand:) She also uses sign language for some words too.

Here are two videos from our time on the playground. She loves climbing up the steps, sliding down the slide and running around to do it again. She and Kara chase eachother around from the slide to the steps giggling. It is their own game they came up with. You can hear Kara giggling in the background of one of the videos.

We have been enjoying a beautiful couple of fall days. So the playground was a great place to hang out.
We have had a lot of fun at the zoo. Anna and Kara loved looking at the animals. They were so cute as they stared at the animals. We were even able to see a 3 week old baby giraffe.
